Demetra Kallitsi is a conceptual artist, working in the mediums of performance art, embroidery and creative writing. She completed an MA in Fine Arts at The University of Brighton, UK, 2013 and a BA in Visual Arts at the University of Salford, Manchester, UK, 2012. Her artwork has been presented in solo and collaborative art performances, art exhibitions, short films and theatre plays in Cyprus, Germany, Malta, Italy and the United Kingdom. Her poetry work has been featured in literary journals, publications and music vocals in Cyprus and Germany.
During 2014 - 2016 she served as the Cultural Officer of ARTos Cultural & Research Foundation, Nicosia, and in 2017, as the Financial Manager of PRWeile Studio, Berlin. Between 2018 - 2021, Kallitsi was an Artists Residency Coordinator and in 2019 - 2021, she collaborated with the eMBeD Unit of the World Bank for the implementation of behavioural change interventions. Kallitsi is currently a Researcher at AKTI Project and Research Centre, Nicosia.
